Holly Harmon, PhD

Holly Harmon is the Director of the University of Dayton Counseling Center and is a licensed independent social worker in Ohio. Dr. Harmon has over 20 years of experience working with adolescents and young adults in varied clinical settings and in research projects. Prior to joining the University of Dayton, Dr. Harmon served as the Director of the Robert Morris University Counseling Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Earlier in her career, she was employed at Western Pennsylvania Institute and Clinic (WPIC) and the Services for Teens at Risk (STAR) Clinic. Dr. Harmon has expertise providing individual, family, and group therapy while specializing in the areas of depression, anxiety, and trauma.  Her mission has been to find ways to address and treat mental health concerns in young adults.

Dr. Harmon completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh, her Master’s degree in Social Work with a specialization in Direct Practice at the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work and her doctoral degree at Robert Morris University.  She is the co-editor of the Journal of College Student Mental Health, and an advisory board member for the Center for Collegiate Mental Health. She is an active member of the Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors (AUCCCD) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
