Eric A. Weldy, EdD

Eric A. Weldy, EdD serves as vice chancellor for Student Affairs at Indiana University Indianapolis where he leads transformative initiatives that elevate student engagement and success. A seasoned higher education administrator and educator, Dr. Weldy brings a wealth of experience from both small private colleges and large public research universities. Before joining Indiana University Indianapolis, he held leadership roles as vice president for student affairs and enrollment management at Northern Illinois University and associate vice president for student affairs at Florida State University.

Throughout his career, Dr. Weldy has been recognized for modernizing student services and implementing innovative solutions to complex challenges that impact student success. His leadership is defined by a strong commitment to student development overseeing programs that enhance learning and campus life. Dr. Weldy’s visionary approach continues to shape the field of student affairs with a focus on educational excellence and creating supportive environments for students at every stage of their academic journeys.

Dr. Weldy’s contributions to higher education have earned him numerous accolades including the Outstanding Service to the Student Affairs Profession Award from Illinois State University in 2023 and the Outstanding Administrator Award from the Indianapolis Faculty Council at Indiana University Indianapolis in 2024. These honors reflect his dedication to advancing student success and fostering inclusive campus communities.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Weldy serves on the Board of Trustees at Eureka College, his alma mater, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art. He also holds a Master of Science degree in History from Illinois State University and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
