Behind every thriving campus are faculty and staff members who mentor students, build community, create opportunity, and lead with purpose. Their impact often extends far beyond the classroom or office, shaping lives, strengthening institutions, and connecting campuses to the broader world.
Insight Into Academia is proud to introduce Higher Ed Heroes, a new national initiative designed to spotlight the individuals who make a meaningful difference at colleges and universities across the country.
This project celebrates the everyday leadership that strengthens higher education from within. Whether someone is guiding students toward career success, building inclusive spaces, mentoring first-generation scholars, advancing innovation, or strengthening community partnerships, Higher Ed Heroes exists to recognize their contributions.
Anyone can submit a nomination. Students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community members are all invited to participate.
There are two ways to nominate:
Written Submission
Nominate your Higher Ed Hero with a written reflection, and we will spotlight their story on our website and in our newsletter.
Video Submission
Submit a short video nomination via Instagram, and your nominee will be featured across LinkedIn and our social channels in addition to website and newsletter coverage, amplifying their impact and visibility.
To further celebrate engagement, the five nominees whose stories generate the most shares and interaction will earn a place in our official Higher Ed Heroes Hall of Fame, to be featured in the magazine.
Higher Ed Heroes is more than recognition. It is a way to elevate the people who strengthen campuses nationwide through leadership, mentorship, and service.
